I was nervous.Very nervous. It was my first time going to work so I wake up early in the
morning to be punctual. I was calming myself down as it was like I am going to take my exam in university. My chauffeur was also sick today, instead of taking a bus I decided to take the MRT.
I was at the MRT station waiting for the train to come. Suddenly, I heard someone calling my
name ceaselessly. I turned around. No one was suspiciours. Who could it be? I thought that I was dreaming or I was just to worry but it was not true.
"Susan....." The voice was calling my name again. My heart palpitated wildly as frightening thoughts raced through my mind. I was not dreaming any more. It was real. I kept turning my head back but I just cannot spot anyone who were suspicious.
Panic started to engulf me. When the train arrived, I quickly went in. I heaved a sigh of relief. Luckily, there were many people in the train or else I would be in danger. The voice continued to call me. Would it be my enemy?
I was angry. Very angry and a wave of futile rage swept over me. I thought for the second time. Maybe the person was playing a prank with me? Or he was just frightening me?
After a few stops, I went down to walk to my office. I was suspecting that someone was following behind me. Within three minutes, I would turn my head back again to ensure that there was nobody I decided to take a short cut to reach my office faster but it was deserted and nobody was around.
Grabbing a golden opportunity, the person grabbed me and covered my mouth to prevent me from shouting. "Help...! Help me! no matter how hard I shouted for help, it was useless. Very useless. "Keep your mouth shut or I'll kill you!' He took out a knife and pointed at me. Panic gripped me. Teetening on the threshold of fear, I decided to keep quiet.
I saw his face. It was as if he was a gangster. I thought he was my father's friend, Sam. It was him. Sam brought me to a place. It was deserted and quiet. I was scared. Really scared. My heart was in my mouth. My stomach was churning not-stop too I could hear the loud thumping of my heart.
Wild thoughts swirled in my mind. Would I die? Would I get killed just because of him? "Give me all your money and those valuables you are wearing or you will get killed!" He shouted at the top of his lung I did what he had instructed me. I was trembling like a leaf.
Fortunately, someone had passed by. The passer-by was at the scene and he called the police without hesitation. After a period of time the piercing sound of sirens had filled the air. Sam started to panic and he took all my things before escaping. The passer-by decided to chase after Sam but to no avail.
The police car screeched to a halt in front of the deserted place. Some of the police chased after him but he had already escapes scott free. Some of the police combed the area for some clues like the fingerprints while one of them questioned the passer-by and me to have proofs.
The police found that he was a serial burglar who had been involved in a spate of stealing. Thankfully, my things were recovered and Sam was arrested too. It was a traumatic experience for me but I did not even breathe a word to my family. Next time, I would not dare to go to work myself again. I was visibly relieved that I was not hurt.

I was staying at home alone and felt bored. Very bored. It was my parent’s colleague birthday so they had to attend it. I was watching my favourite show "Amazing Race" when the lights flickered wildly and went off. My house had plunged into darkness! "There's a fire run...!' everyone shouted as they were panicking.
There was more and more muffled screams and gasped of horror filled the air. Meanwhile, I heard babies bowling and children wailing. Would I die? Should I escape? Chaos ensued. I was in danger as the fire was spreading.
I looked out of my door and I saw all of the residents were behaving in a frantic manner. Plumes of black smoke billowed out of the building. The blaze was spreading to the sixth floor as the voracious appetite of the fire went unchecked. Pandemonium broke out as the panic stricken residents ran helter-skelter in all direction to get out of the building. Suddenly, I felt that I had difficulty breathing.
"Help! Help....!" a familiar voice shouted at the top of his voice. IT was John who is my neighbour. He was in his house but there was no one at home.
Should I escape myself and be oblivious to my neighbours who was in danger? Should I risk my life?
Panic started to engulf me. My heart began to beat faster every second as frightening thoughts raced through my mind. Fortunately, a bus past-by as there was a traffic jam so the driver could not drive. Everyone ran out of the bus. Panic gripped them and they were trembling like a leaf. They took out their hand phone and called the SPDF officers.
I decided to escape first as tongues of flames had licked the walls. The flames were getting bigger and bigger and the fire was spreading and spreading. Tension and fear mounted. Would I survive?
Cold fear gripped John and he was too afraid to utter a word. After a few period of time, the
ambulance came followed by the police and the SPDF officers. The fireman came to the scene to
put out the fire. There were thick smoke and John was coughing ceaselessly. I quickly told them to save John who was living in the third floor.
Luckily, John had minor injuries but the people whisked him into the ambulance. The police cordoned off the area while the SPDF officers stayed behind to investigate the cause of the fire
and found some clues left behind carelessly. The police also took down some sentences from the
eye-witnesses.
I informed John's mother and she rushed to the hospital. "Mum..." he called out in a weak voice her mother was disappointed. So disappointed that she cried profusely. I apologised to John for not saving him and ran for my life.
It was a traumatic experience for John. The cause of the fire was actually caused by an adult who had forgotten to turn off the fire while boiling the water.

"I need to go home alreadly" I told my friends. I went home after playing badminton with my bosom budies. It was the most crucial part of the game. We have won!
I was overwhelmed with joy and animation had lit up my face but I was dead tired at the same time. I lied on my bed without hesitation. I did not change my clothers. It was wet and smelly! I
could still sleep soundly. It was peaceful and quiet. So quiet that I could hear a pin drop from my
window.
Suddenly, a series of furious knocks on the door startled me from my afternoon nap. Who could
it be? Feeling extremely irritated and furious, I strode to the door and open it.
"Bang!" The door slammed on the wall. He was gigantic and scary-looking standing about two
metre tall, he had shoulders the width of my dining room table. His hair hung to his shoulders and a full beard hid half of his face. His massive chest and arms were covered with tattoos. He was
wearing greasy black jeans and a black leather jacket.
Who was him? He stormed into the house in anger. Hegrabbed me into my room and tied me with a cloth ground my mouth, hands and leg. My heart palpitated wildly. Fear and terror mounted.
I tried to untie the cloth but it was too tight. Extremely tight. I was in a state of bewilderment.
"Be quiet or I will kill you!" he said in a gruff voice. I sat there quietly and I did not even move.
He went to my parents' room and rummaged through their cardboard thoroughly to search for
valuables. He put them in a black coloured bag and left no stone unturned. I was trembling like a
leaf. Fear gripped me. There are some valuables like a hi fi set had vanished into the air.
My room was in a mess! Our belongings were strewn everywhere haphazadly. Would I die?
Would I be hurt? Frightening thoughts raced through my mind while I was thinking of a way to
escape scott free. Fortunately, a passer-by walked past and saw me. I was trying very hard to have eye contact with him.
Without hesitation, the passer-by called the police. After a period of time, the piercing sound
of the sirens filled the air. He started to panick and rushed out of my house to escape. The police
car screeched to a half in front of my house. Some of the police chased after him while some of
the police untied the cloth for me combed my house for some clues like the fingerprints.
After a wild goose chase, he surrended and had been arrested. The police found that he was
a serial burglar who hadbeen involved in a spate of break ins. Thankfully, all the valuables were
recovered.

It was a tranquil and mundane afternoon. "Why don't we go to the beach?" Edwin said in a excited voice to us. It was our holiday and we felt bored staying at home so we agreed to go to the beach to relieve stress. Very bored. Sam and I cycled to the beach to meet Edwin.
Suddenly a voice was calling at us urgently. An anxious looking woman was pointing in the
direction of the sea. It was Edwin! We laughed for a moment. We did not know. Edwin was not playing a fool. Someone had dunked him wndedrwater. Out of a sudden,Edwin's feet could not
reach the ground. He had fresh feeling of fear. He panicked and felt difficulty in breathing. He
was thrashing his arms wildly and was trying to scream but kept swallowinig big gulps of the
murky water.
"Help! Help.... I "Edwin was trying to scream frantically for help but to no avail. We were too
far away to hear him. Besideds, we thought Edwin was only pretending. The pinickers were enjoying themselves and they did not noticed about Edwin who was going to drowned.
"I am drowning! Please help me!" These chilling words echoed through the hot,dry air. The
piercing scream from Edwin propelled us into actuion.
Meanwhile, Edwin was trying very hard to get back to safetty. It was to late. Extremely late.
He had a leg cramp. The strong waves was making his task more daunting. Edwin was helpless! His heart palpitated wildly and was frantic with terror. I wanted to jump down but frightening
thoughts raced through my mind. Would I die in the sea?Would I be a corpse floating on the sea?
All my thoughts was sick in my stomach. I felt desolate.
Without wasting a second, I plucked up my courage and jumped into the sea to save Edwin. I
dived into the water and swam with powerful strokes towards him. By that time, Edwin's energy was ebbing from him rapidly. I quickly brought him into safety.
There was no time to lose. Sam was runniing around to seek help. Fortunately, Sam had found
help from the lifeguard as the lifeguard saw him and he applied CPR on Edwin without hesitation. Edwin had been revived! We were looking at him with a thankful expression. A small crowd had gathered around him when Sam seeking help help. They were jostling each other to get a better view of him. He was lying on the ground unconsciously.
Soon, the crowd had dispersed and Edwin went back to rest. He never breathe a word to his
family at all about the incident. It was a traumatic experience for him. He realized that misfortune
could strike on anyone and he dared not to play tricks in the sea as no one could turn back the clock.
