Introduction

This picture depicts a scene at the hospital. The ward has only one visitors visiting the elderly man who is recuperating from his illness. It may be during visiting hours as there are people visiting him. It is important to take care of our own body as we must always stay healthy. Who would want to end up like the old man in the hospital. It could cause us to suffer from physical pain and you will definitely not have freedom to do what you want as you move around. Nowadays, medical cost are very high especially in Singapore. If you get into long term illnesses, you may get into financial problems. It may be a burden for the family too. The elderly man seemed to be staying alone in a one room ward. In this way , it will be more quiet and peaceful as nobody would disturb him. Unless someone visits him. He should rest more as this could allow him to recover faster.

Normal

A nurse is standing at the side of the weak and elderly helping him to adjust the pillow to a right and comfortable position. She seemed to be a very kind helpful and caring. The old man may feel dicomfortable lying on the bed with a cast that is wrapping around his legs. I empathise and sympathise with him being so uncomfortable. Mostly most people could not bear with the pain and the feeling of being uncomfortable. I really applaud him for his courage. Even though he is already very old, he could still resist the pain. The nurse who helps him has a wide grin on her face. She seemed to be cheering up the elderly man so that the man would not be very lonely staying alone.

I personally think that he had been involved in a accident or tripped onto a rock and fell down. He has sprained his legs due to anyone of the accident and so on. To me, I feel that the old man should be more careful and cautious next time whenever he walks. When a person grow older and older, the bone will also grow weaker and weaker and it is easily to be fractured. I suggest that next time if he decides to go out, someone should follow him and take care of him so that he can be more careful. Old men are actually frail. However, I wish that he can recover as fast as possible and have a speedy recovery.

Being a nurse is not as easy as most of the people think. They have to be very attentive to a variety of patients. Patients must also take their medicine daily following a routine. They must also ensure the safety of al the patients. Sometimes, she also need to help the doctor in a surgery or in a critical condition where patients could not breathe and so on. This are the mainly cases of the things happening in the hospital.

Wrong and consequence

A bespectacled woman sitting on the chair seemed to be the daughter of the elderly man. She was staring daggers at the two children, who may be her children, is fuming mad and raging in fear. They were running around the ward playfully. They are playing tag at the aisle in the ward.

Their laughter is contributing to the noise level in the room. The sounds will disturb their grandfather easily and he will be distracted by their noise. It is such an inconsiderate act. Worst, it might also stir up the tranquility of the whole hospital that is quiet. She look furious and seems to be warning them to stop their mischievous act. The children should not make a din and treat the hospital ward as a playground. They should sit down and have a quiet game instead if they want to have fun.

I think the mother has done the right thing to discipline the children. I will suggest that she must also teach them that the hospital ward is not a playground and they have to be considerate to other people and be well-behaved at a public place. It is important for parents to start inculcating the right values in the child when they are young and teachable.

Conclusion

A hospital ward is where patients live and no noise is allowed in the hospital. It is part and parcel of our responsibility to keep quiet in the hospital as patient need to rest in a hospital. It might help them to have a speedy recovery. I think we should behave ourselves in the hospital rather than embarrassing ourselves.
